THE CHILDHOOD TRUST
The Childhood Trust offers bespoke volunteering opportunities that help employees and their companies connect to their local communities and give back personally. Their corporate partners are welcome to participate in two volunteer programmes, Decorate A Child’s Life and Meals That Matter.
Decorate A Child’s Life
Decorate A Child’s Life (DACL) is The Childhood Trust’s housing support programme that redecorates disadvantaged children's bedrooms, as well as local youth clubs and community centres children rely on for support. The purpose of the programme is to provide children living in substandard accommodation with safe environments where they can learn, play, and grow.
Corporate Volunteering
The DACL programme's volunteering opportunities are reserved exclusively for our corporate partners and companies interested in supporting our mission.
Corporate groups will spend the volunteer day painting, carrying out small repairs, and assembling flat pack furniture to give a child’s bedroom or a local youth centre a full makeover.
Redecoration projects are completed by the volunteers in one day (9.30am - 5.30pm).
Redecoration projects can accommodate groups of 4 – 10 volunteers.
Meals That Matter
Meals That Matter is The Childhood Trust’s food provision programme that works to combat food poverty among London’s low-income families. The programme brings together corporate volunteer groups with local charities to provide healthy hot meals for children and young people.
Meals That Matter provides volunteers with an opportunity to plan, cook, and serve a hot meal to a group of children or young people at a community or youth centre. By cooking and serving meals at a local charity, volunteers get to spend time with children and see the impact of our funded projects.
